What is the difference between UkeeListens and the District of Ucluelet Website?
UkeeListens is an engagement platform. The District of Ucluelet is an information center. The two sites overlap with important differences.
The District Website displays important Public Notices and is where community can go for Service Requests. Ukeelistens is where community should go if they want to comment and engage with an ongoing project.
For example you may be interested in a the Skatepark Expansion or Zoning Bylaw Refresh and have seen information on the website about those projects. If you want to voice a question, concern or comment you can log in to UkeeListens and immediately voice any or all inquires. Furthermore, helpful tools such as surveys, polls and timelines are available.
How is the information you provide on UkeeListens used?
Information shared on UkeeListens, whether it is direct questions, survey participation or website visitation is compiled by staff who present it directly to council. For example, if a project is taking place staff can directly use comments and visitation analytics to create reports to council showing the interest in the project OR the lack thereof and can change our engagement approach depending.
Why does the District of Ucluelet need an engagement platform?
Using an online engagement platform is part of our effort to open up our public engagement activities and make it easier for people to get involved in civic life.
